I'm a 1st generation Chicana therapist rooted in inclusivity, compassion, and trauma-informed care I serve children, adolescents, and adults trying to stabilize sleep conditions, traumas, psychosis, and crisis. My approach blends a variety of evidence-based therapies, including CBT, DBT, ACT, TF-CBT, CBT-I, strength-based, and I’m EMDR trained.
Are you experiencing difficulty regulating your emotions and/or controlling your thoughts? Perhaps a traumatic event continues to interrupt your ability to connect with loved ones or manage your responsibilities? Are navigating relationship issues? Maybe you’re starting to have thoughts of harming yourself and you’re quite not sure how to stop it or what it means? It can be painful to do the work and I’m here to help carry the weight of that with you. Together, we can create a plan to overcome major life events and past traumas.
I encourage you to reach out for a free 15-minute consultation if my approach resonates with your current experience. Keep in mind It can take time to find the right therapist – I hope I can be that therapist for you. I recognize it is difficult to feel motivated during challenging times, and I deeply appreciate your effort in trying something new.

I’m originally from Mexico and have lived in the Bay Area for over 30 years. My interest in the mental health field started while attending Ohlone College and continued through my undergraduate studies at UC Santa Cruz where I graduated in Psychology.
I have worked extensively with adolescents since the early 2000s in a variety of settings. Prior to becoming a therapist in 2009, I worked in the field of Positive Youth Development designing and implementing school-based programs such as peer mentoring, peer education, youth advisory boards, and after-school psycho-educational groups focused on health and positive body image.
In 2009, I graduated from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology (now Sofia University) with a Masters in Counseling Psychology and became a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in 2014. From 2009 to 2020, I worked primarily in under resourced communities and primarily with young people of color and recent immigrants from Central America and Mexico, including unaccompanied minors. I have provided mental health services to youth of color and their families in settings that include juvenile correctional facility, home-based services, adolescent substance abuse program, residential program, schools, and clinics.
Over the course of my career, I have gained expertise in the area of recent immigrant mental health and have presented in national and regional conferences and forums on trauma and immigrant mental health. In 2018, I was published in the Perspectives Journal in France.
In 2015, I started my own private practice where I support youth, adults, and families from diverse backgrounds and socio-economic status and where I continue to support individuals in addressing a variety of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, eating and weight disorders, and immigration and acculturation issues.
